The Young People Communicate Through Traditions (YPCTT) project uses cultural traditions, folk dances from

participating countries and develops coordination skills by young people with special needs, to reduce their dependence on other people and their social inclusion in the daily life of the community. Within the project, we established 3 concrete objectives, harmonized with the priorities selected in the application.

1. During the 11 months of the project, we aim to improve 3 motor coordination skills (coordinating steps to music, eyemotor coordination and temporal & space orientation) for the target group consisting of 20 young people with special needs and 10 young people from disadvantaged area in Romania.

This objective will be achieved by learning some popular dances and traditional activities from the three countries where the partners come from.

This objective is consistent with the horizontal priority "Inclusion and diversity in all fields of education, training, youth and sport" but also with the themes "Disabilities" and "Creativity, arts and culture".

2. Increasing the degree of awareness of the rural community where the activities will take place in Romania about the phenomenon of social exclusion of young people with special needs from the target group and young people coming from disadvantaged areas or minorities.

This objective aims to improve the mentality of decision-makers in the rural community (town hall, school, church) and village residents towards young people with special needs or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

This objective is consistent with the specific priority "Increasing the quality, innovation and recognition of youth work", but also with the themes "Creativity, art and culture" and "Inclusion, promoting equality and non-discrimination".

3. Increasing the degree of international cooperation between three organizations from countries with different traditions and religions for the development and implementation of 6 models of good practices for improving the coordination skills of young people with special needs or from disadvantaged areas.

This objective is consistent with the horizontal priority, but also with the specific priority.

The three partners consider these objectives perfectly achievable through this project and all these will successfully

contribute to the realization of their needs and the promotion of sports and moral values in the European Union.
